World of Warcraft
Guides
In a recent post, Blizzard went over the ins and outs of interior design in their upcoming World of Warcraft Housing System.
We know very little about the next World of Warcraft (WoW) expansion. What we do know is that player housing will be available – and that it will be entitled Midnight. Suffice to say, people have been generally interested in the Housing System. In a rather lengthy post, Blizzard went over some of the nitty-gritty side of interior design.

Basic design in WoW’s Housing System
When it comes to player housing, there are some very basic ideologies that WoW is set to follow with its basic functionality.
Essentially, anything that you can normally do with a Housing System and decoration within a game, you will be able to do in WoW. Inversely, anything that is generally restricted will be the same. But these limitations only exist with the basic design controls.

Advanced design choices
When it comes to Blizzard and WoW, we always expect them to go a bit further than just the basics. As such, there will be an advanced mode available, which breaks the boundaries, quite literally. With the advanced mode, players can (and most likely will) utilize the “no-clip” feature. This means that we will be allowed to place tables inside the walls.
Advanced controls give players the ability to completely re-imagine the way they create their perfect home.

The advanced controls look far more interesting, especially when designing and decorating our housing. This will allow more freedom for players wanting to mess around with the system and create their perfect house in Azeroth.
Dye, Dye, Dye
While we have been craving, wishing, wanting, and begging for a dye system for our outfits in WoW for some time, it has fallen on deaf ears. However, one thing made possible in the new Housing System is the dyeing of items going into our new abode. There seems to be a pretty sizeable color palette, which will allow players to match (or mix) the colors of all of their housing assets. However, there do seem to be some limitations linked to this, with legacy assets not having this feature.
From this news given by Blizzard, it does seem as though they have thoroughly fleshed out the player housing system. On the one hand, it is at least a million times better than what Warlords of Draenor gave us with Garrisons. But whether it can live up to our expectations and dreams remains to be seen. There is still a long road ahead before we reach the Midnight expansion, but the excitement for finally having player housing in WoW is rising.
