News of Kai Cenat’s unbanning from Twitch comes from Twitter account StreamerBans, which keeps track of active bans as well as ban history of prominent streamer personalities. While neither Cenat nor Twitch has publicly come out with the reason for doing so, Dexerto is reportingthe apparent reason behind Kai Cenat’s banwas for “repeated explicit simulated activity inGTA.”Given the often explicit nature of some of the activities available in the M-rated series, it isn’t hard to imagine some of the things Cenat may have been doing which resulted in the ban.
This isn’t the first time the prolific streamer has been banned, asKai Cenat was banned from Twitchearlier this year. The reasoning behind his fourth ban - with the most recent one making five in total - was believed to be from ingesting cannabis edibles and passing out while streaming, going against Twitch’s rules on drug use. Despite being banned a total of five times in the span of roughly two years, Twitch seems to be fairly lenient on Cenat, a behavior consistent with some of the platform’s top performers and a common complaint among other streamers on the site.
Although Kai Cenat is arguably Twitch’s most prominent streamer overall at the moment, rumors of his departure to rival platform Kick have continued to swirl. In response to an underwhelming reaction to Twitch’s gift celebrating his recent achievements, Kick sent Cenat a similar gift, interpretable as a means to “one-up” the one from Twitch. Popular streamerAdin Ross also just asked Kai Cenat to leave Twitch for Kick, leading to an increasingly strong signal that the Trainwreck-backed platform is doing everything it can to lure big-name streamers.
