The Set 9 world champion from Japan, Title, secured another victory to his storied career by winning the Set 10 TFT Mid-Set Invitational!

Twenty-four of the best players in the world were invited to play in the first Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Mid-Set Invitational (MSI). Without a Set 10.5 or any mid-sets in the coming future, this Mid-Set Invitational may be the first of many to come.

The TFT Open Championship Circuit, China’s official TFT professional league, invited their top 13 players in Summit Points and 11 players from around the world. These 11 players included former world champions, world championship participants, and the Vegas Open champion.

After two days of twelve games of competition, the final eight competitors of the TFT Open Championship 7 Mid-Set Invitational were determined:

As a reminder, the final day format was as follows:

Seven players on the verge of winning the Mid-Set Invitational

Seven out of the eight finalists were in check for the final game. A first-place finish by any of them would secure them the Mid-Set Invitational win. This is what the scoreboard looked like heading into the game 6.

In an anyone can win, winner takes all situation, players continued to field what worked all tournament long. Reroll 3-cost compositions had been very prevalent leading up to the finals. This continued to be the case throughout the finals. Riven reroll, Yone reroll, Lux reroll, Samira reroll, and Miss Fortune reroll were all played as 3-costs being out of the pool helped all rerollers hit their units.

The final game of the TFT Mid-Set Invitational

Title, in a 4-way tie for fourth at 21 points, needed a win just like six fellow competitors. The reroll compositions in the final lobby shook out in this manner:

Unfortunately for Milala and Chuqi, they were never able to hit their 3-star 3-cost units and bombed out early in 7th and 8th place. Milala exiting early was beneficial for Title as Samira reroll also utilizes Vex 3 as a secondary carry.

Although the Country variant of Samira reroll has been popular, Title was familiar with the stronger 6 executioner version. With the Executioner +1 on his Samira, he eventually found Samira 3 and used a champion duplicator for Vex 3. In the end, Title faced point-leader YFTX and his Yone reroll for tournament victory. With both players on the verge of knocking each other out, the final showdown looked like this:

After a final six games of competition, Title continued his international success from the world championship at the Set 10 TFT Mid-Set Invitational, becoming its first champion. Here’s the final scoreboard for the last day of competition:
