Why did TNC release their roster?

This year has already been a very different and difficult one for the Dota 2 scene. On top of theraging pandemicand theissues that come along with it, this iteration of theDPC systemhas left much to be desired.

In TNC’s case, they had a rather shaky start in Season 1, failing to qualify for theSingapore Major. Subsequently, they would release Damien “kpii” Chok and Kim “Febby” Yong-min shortly before Season 2. With the addition of Boomy and Bok, TNC managed to finish 2nd in the DPC Regional League. This secured them a Group Stage seed in theWePlay AniMajor.

TNC fought fiercely, and made it through to the Playoffs Stage. There, theydefeated the Chinese favorites Team Aster in emphatic fashion. Unfortunately, TNC would then fall to EG 2-1, and finish in 7th/8th Place.
Without enough DPC Points for a Direct Invite, TNC were slated to face off in the bloodbath that would be theSEA TI10 Qualifiers. As the dust settled, they would fall in a reverse sweep toFnatic 3-2 after an epic Grand Finals. This would be the first time the TNC organization would be missing TI since 2015.
