To catch everyone up on their anime history real quick, Tatsunoko Productions is the historical anime studio that’s brought us classic titlesSpeed Racer,Macross,Gatchaman, andSamurai Pizza Cats. Production I.G. and Studio Pierrot both grew out of Tatsunoko; you might even say they’re the MTM of the anime industry. Alright, that’s a bit much of a claim.
Anyways, back at the end of May, Jonathan Holmes brought usa tasty littleFamitsuscanshowing off the first images of the game. Much likeMarvel vs. Capcom, this new title is a tag-team fighter that’ll be using theStreet Fighter IVstyle of animation. For anyone who’s been a fan of anime, these titles are dear childhood memories, and so this game’s got a bit of excitement behind it. Here’s the roster of who’s confirmed forBra–sorry, force of habit.

I’m sure later issues ofFamitsuwill leak out bits of information of who else is going to be in it. I doubt they’ll follow Nintendo’s trail and announce details every day — there’s not enough random minutiae to get everyone hot and bothered over this. Well, maybe for everyone overat Japanator.
