Major League Gaming hit Raleigh, North Carolinalast weekend which, unfortunately, was the same week as PAX Prime. With the Penny Arcade Expo now behind us, here’s some results from the weekend’s action.
There were four tournaments played with the finals all on Sunday. As you would expect, South Koreans dominated theStarCraft IItournament taking the top six placings, with Bomber winning the title in his MLG debut. Infamous won their firstHalo: Reach title, FeaR beat rivals Collapse 3-0 to take theCall of Duty: Black Opstitle and Counter Logic Gaming beat Epik Gaming in theLeague of Legendsfinal.
Maybe one of the most interesting things that happened over the weekend was aset of exhibition matches ofGears of War 3, between a team from Epic Games and team TH3 NSAN3Z. Ultimately, the pro-gamers lead a 3-0 whitewash of the guys from Epic, which in Scotland we refer to as a “humping.” MLG’s next stop is in Orlando, Florida between the 14th and 16th of October.
