The country icon, 58, had nothing but praise forTaylor Swiftwhen asked how she felt about the singerwearing her face on a T-shirtduring an outing in New York City at the beginning of October.

“It’s really cool. I think that was sweet of her,” she sharedduring an appearanceonThe Drew Barrymore Showon Tuesday. Twain added that she thinks Swift, 33, is a “doll” and a “great role model for girls.”

“I’m totally in,” Twain continued. “Like, I feel like I’m her aunt or something. We’re in synch in a lot of ways, and I really have a lot of respect and compassion for her.” The “Forever and for Always” star also took the opportunity to complement the “Shake It Off” singer’s work ethic.

“The weight of any young artist in her position is enormous, and she gets through it seemingly so effortlessly, but we all know that it’s not,” she said.

Twain is currently performing across North America as part of herQueen of Me World Tour. In May 2024, she will begin a residency at Las Vegas’s Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood. She previously revealed to PEOPLE that she’s looking forward to theopportunity to showcase her passion for fashionin the shows.

Swift has also found success on the road with her career-spanningEras Tour. The tour even inspired the release of a concert film titledTaylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which hit cinemas nationwide on Oct. 13 and became thehighest-grossing concert film of all time.

Announcing the news of the film in August, Swift postedon Instagram:“The Eras Tour has been themost meaningful, electric experience of my life so far, and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon 😆.” She also encouraged fans to bring their “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing.”
