Rekkles chose to leave T1 after Worlds 2024 to go back to Sweden.
League of Legends powerhouse T1 and Carl Martin Erik “Rekkles” Larsson agreed to go separate ways this Wednesday, Nov. 13.
The announcement comes 11 days after T1 won their fifth League of Legends World Championship, this time at the expense of Bilibili Gaming.
Rekkles wasn’t part of the quintet that played in Worlds 2024, as he was amere substitute for T1.
Rekkles has been a part of T1 since December 2023 and spent 2024 playing for the organization’s Challengers division. The organization thanked the European player for his services throughout the year.
“Today, we part ways with Rekkles by mutual agreement,” T1 announced on X. “We sincerely thank him for his decision to start a new career in Korea and for giving his best effort throughout this year. T1 will continue to support him in his future endeavors.”

Rekkles wants to fix his issues back home after this T1 stint
Rekkles announced in a long post on X that he decided to leave the Korean organization to fix problems that had been left unsolved.
The European star had been struggling mentally for a while as a result of leaving Fnatic in 2020, a family accident, and being diagnosed as someone in the autism spectrum. He wanted to try things out with T1 as he’d regret turning down this opportunity but recognized that now is the time to solve these issues.
“I think we can all agree this was the right decision, but, as expected, it did not fix my issues —it just put them on hold. Now, I believe it is time for me to address those challenges, and to do that, I need to be in Sweden close to my family.”
Moving forward, we can expect Rekkles to play League of Legends in Europe again. Although the 28-year-old hasn’t announced the team yet, he mentioned that he received an offer that will allow him to play professionally in 2025 from home.
Many years prior, Rekkles made history in the LEC. He won numerous domestic titles with Fnatic between 2014 and 2018 and finished runners-up in Worlds 2018.
The move to G2 in 2020 didn’t pan out as G2 benched him at the end of 2021 and he had to play for Karmine Corp in the La Ligue Française (LFL) in 2022. Although a return to Fnatic looked promising on paper, the organization placed him on the bench in April 2023.
Rekkles and his fans sure hope that things will go better in 2025.
