PMPL will also see the addition of two new regions in 2022.
After promising more stability and structural changes earlier this year, PUBG Mobile has announced a new format for PUBG Mobile Pro League 2022 which widens the game’s esports ecosystem and gives more opportunities to players across the world. Teams will be competing in various regional and international events for a $5.3 million prize pool.

One of the key changes announced earlier this year was the move to a one-year cycle from relegation. This move ensures stability in the PUBG Mobile esports ecosystem for organizations, which further helps develop the grass-roots of PUBG esports.
The new PMPL system will kickstart with a one-time qualifier event. Teams invited to this one-time qualifier event will include lower-tier PMPL teams, top semi-pro & amateur teams from last year‘s official PUBG MOBILE supported competitions. The higher ranked 2021 PMPL teams will receive a direct invite to the 2022 event.

Changes in format hope to strengthen grass roots
One of the key reasons for the change in format is to ensure the stability of the esports scene. But PUBG Mobile also aims to bring more people into its esports ecosystem. With the addition of two new regions, players from Africa and Pakistan can now compete in their own PUBG Mobile events.
Players and their teams will earn points throughout the year and the top teams will receive invites to PMNC or regional cups at the end of the year.
