Per usual,Pokemon GOdeveloper Niantic is throwing a lot of new content, events, and features at its ever-busy fan base. This notably includes the forthcomingClamperl Limited Time Research eventand the Team Change Medallion for starters, but it also appears that the developer is adding some new avatar items to the game’s shop that focuses on the famed “Pokemon 891.”
For those unaware, Meltan was first discovered by data miners inPokemon GO, where it was designated “Kecleon” or “Pokemon 891.” This led to some serious confusion when it was finally revealed, with many thinking this latest Pocket Monster was just a glitch. Even before the name “Meltan” was officially revealed, fans gave it various nicknames like “Nutto.”
This unusual marketing and introduction seemed to work, as Meltan’s popularity continued to soar. It would go on to receive its ownSpecial Research questinPokemon GO, be available inPokemon Let’s Go, and be revealed to have an evolution known as Melmetal. As a result, it shouldn’t be surprising to find out that Meltan is receiving its own special apparel inPokemon GO, with the attire consisting of a Meltan winter hat, long-sleeve shirt, and a pair of earrings (for female players.)
This Meltan apparel addition follows a solid line of purchasable cosmetics that have routinely appeared in the store, such as the recent Brock and Misty orTeam Aqua and Team Magmaapparel. It’s worth mentioning that it’s not available yet, but thanks to the renownPokemon GOleaker Chrales, we do know what these avatar items will look like.
Of course, what we do not know is when this apparel will appear in thePokemon GOshop, but it will hopefully be sooner rather than later. Prices are currently unknown as well, but it seems likely that it will be on par with previous additions, meaning that many be already want to save up for these forthcoming Meltan avatar items.
