I’m excited forGuillermo del Toro Presents: Idris Elba in Neon Genesis Evangelion Power Rangers, orPacific Rim, which is dropping this Friday. Little did I know,Pacific Rim: The Video Gameis dropping simultaneously on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft points.
Unfortunately, this trailer does not inspire confidence. “Take charge in eradicating the invading Kaiju,” the trailer says, before proceeding to show no invading Kaiju.Pacific Rimis a movie about giant robots fighting giant sea monsters and its videogame tie in just released a trailer showing only giant robots, mostly just falling over. Hopefully they aren’t betting on getting those Kaiju character models done three days before release.
Still, this doesn’t have to be all bad. In honor ofPacific Rim‘s release, instead of buying what appears to be licensed junk, let’s dust off last generation’s consoles and either play someWar of the MonstersorGodzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. you may even snag the former on PSN.
