Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller posted a new blog about what to expect in the new Overwatch 2 season. He mentioned that the amount of ultimate charge retained when swapping heroes will be reduced from 25% to 15%. Keller also shared an Overwatch 2 balance preview. Read on for details.

Overwatch 2 ultimate charge becomes 15%
What is the ultimate charge change in Overwatch 2? When you opt to switch heroes in the middle of a game, you typically get 25% ultimate charge after doing the swap. However, this is being changed to 15%. According to Keller, this mechanic removes friction when switching heroes and reducing it from 25% to 15% should still accomplish that.
“However, there is a perception that it’s almost always an advantage to counter-swap upon dying, and we’re lowering this value to see if it has an effect on swap rates,” Keller explainedin the blog.
