Season 12 of Overwatch 2 kicks off on Aug. 20, as confirmed by Blizzard in the official Season 12: New Frontiers trailer. Blizzard also confirmed this in an announcement on social media.

The next mythic hero skin is set to join the ranks of 11 others of the same rarity. Leaks on Aug. 13 indicate that it might be the mythic Reaper Anubis skin. As with previous seasons, if you don’t get the new mythic skin during its introductory season, then you can obtain it two seasons later using Mythic Prisms.

More information about the mythic and other Overwatch 2 reveals will likely arrive in the upcoming Season 12 trailer, which will go live on Aug. 14.

In the new season, Juno, previously known as Space Ranger, debuts as a new support hero. Additionally, on Aug. 13, Xbox leaked the mythic Reaper Anubis skin alongside skins for Genji, Kiriko, and Echo. The image also noted the Clash game mode.
The new season means a brand-new Battle Pass as well. Typically, Battle Pass rewards feature items that reference a new hero or overall seasonal theme. Therefore, players can expect items of the “New Frontiers” nature.
There will also be some upcoming tank changes.

As for what else to expect, it may be possible that the Overwatch 2 team is testing out 6v6 matches. Last month, game director Aaron Keller hinted at 6v6 playtests in the future.
