It can be very easy to see a game onXbox Game Passand feel like you’ll get around to it eventually. We all have that stack of games in our Game Pass backlog that we will play one day, but just not today as we sink a dozen more hours intoCall of Dutyor the next big obsession likeClair Obscur: Expedition 33. Unfortunately, eventually, those games we’ve been telling ourselves we’ll get around to beating leave the service, meaning we miss our chance. It is gutting, but a part of the process.

Of course, there are some games we should absolutely not miss. While it is impossible to get around to every game on the service, the mostsurprising Game Pass titlesare absolutely must-plays and worth beating before they leave. That is undeniably true of one of 2024’s greatest games, which leaves Game Pass in just a matter of days. Losing out on the experience would be much more than just a great shame, as it is one of the most unique, inspired, and interesting games to have graced the service in quite a long time.

Kunitsu-Gami Is A Stylish 2024 Standout

There Is No Other Game Like It

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddessis a phenomenal 2024 action title developed and published by Capcom. In fact, despite releasing in the same year as theabsolutely massiveDragon’s Dogma 2- also developed by Capcom -Kunitsu-Gamiended up being the developer’s greatest game of the year, at least in my opinion. Despite its much smaller scale, it still managed to garner a very respectable 80 onMetacritic, in large part thanks to its unique approach to tower defense mechanics and, especially, combat.

Its sumptuous visuals, inspired by Japanese folklore, complement its balletic combat inspired by the ancient form of ceremonial dance called Kagura. It’s an engrossing experience from start to finish, with each encounter challenging your strategic skills as well as your mastery of the easy-to-grasp, yet hard-to-master combat. Suffice it to say, it is no wonderKunitsu-Gamireceived overwhelming acclaimfrom critics and fans alike.

You Can Beat Kunitsu-Gami Before It Leaves Game Pass

It Isn’t A Very Long Game

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddessisleaving Xbox Game Pass on Thursday, June 19, 2025. It has been available on the service for quite a considerable amount of time, during which it has consistently remained one of thebest Game Pass titlesof all time. Of course, it is finally leaving, at least for the time being. Regardless, that doesn’t give fans much time to play it. Fortunately,Kunitsu-Gamiis quite a short game, and one that can be beaten in a weekend or over a few days.

According toHow Long to Beat,Kunitsu-Gamiwill take you around 16 hours to complete its main story, and 21 hours to beat everything. That more or less lines up with my own experience, as it took me roughly 18 hours to beat the main game and do as much side content as I felt necessary. While, nowadays, even 16 hours can feel like a lot, the time will honestly fly by.

There’s a beautiful pacing toKunitsu-Gami, one that keeps you consistently engaged throughout, ensuring the experience never overstays its welcome while ensuring you leave positively impressed. So, make sure you finally giveXbox Game Pass’underrated masterpiece a try before it leaves, otherwise you’ll genuinely be missing out on a truly terrific experience.
