Natalie Joyis remaining open to what the future holds.

“Grief definitely comes in waves, and i really try to allow myself to feel the feelings when they come rather than pushing them away for another time,” she wrote. “I feel VERY lucky to have Riv who keeps a smile on my face every single day and Nick who truly keeps that babies spirit alive. i think we would love to give River a sibling whenever the time comes💞.”

“I’ve been trying to be a good mom to River and come and do my job, whether it’s on the podcast or on social media for the past week,” Joy began. “And currently, as I sit here today, I’mactively miscarrying our second child, and it has been the biggest heartbreak, I think, of my life.”

“I’ve never experienced something where I feel so empty inside,” she continued. “My sister has had 12 miscarriages, and it’s like you feel sad and you wanna be there for these people, but you don’t really know the loss that they feel until you go through it yourself.”

Since their pregnancy loss, the parents are taking things one day at a time.

Joy shared pictures via Instagram Stories on Thursday, Feb. 6, of her and Viall’s new matching tattoos. The couple tattooed angel wings — Joy on her neck and Viall on his right hand with a halo over it — to remember their loss.
