Ramone Russell, Brand Strategist and Product Development Communicator at PlayStation, sat down to give players a brief overview of how these mechanics would be affected in the upcoming release. This comes on the heels of an exciting announcement regarding theStadium Creator implemented intoMLB The Show 21.

During the humorous segment, Russell promised what they are calling a “complete fielding overhaul.” With the focus forMLB The Show 21being narrowed in on “at-the-wall” plays, players that previously struggled to rob home runs at the wall or found that their players were not properly fielding balls near the edges of the field should now be satisfied. If a player’s skill was the underlying issue, they can now look forward to an entirely revamped fielding tutorial so that they are properly equipped with the tools necessary to make clutch plays. Finally, Russell revealed that they added new jump and diving indicators to help players time the exact moment they need to make a move.
With a revampedpost-season mode inMLB The Show 21aimed at quicker sessions, fans can expect a more intuitive, smooth experience overall. For now, skeptics will have to wait to see if the experience offered in the demo testing translates to the official release.
