After a longer than expected break due to COVID-19 forcing Disney’s hand to delay a number of its upcoming films, Phase Four of theMarvel Cinematic Universeis set to begin next month withthe release ofThe Falcon and the Winter Soldieron Disney+, followed byMarvel’s Black Widowin November. Despite the Infinity Saga being over, Marvel has released new details regarding the whereabouts of the six Infinity Stones used by Thanos at the end ofAvengers: Infinity War.

While fans might have wondered if Marvel would bring the stones back one day, in true comic book fashion, the answer is no. To celebrate the release ofAvengers: Infinity Waron Disney Plus, Marvel Entertainment took to Instagram and confirmed that the Infinity Stones really were destroyed by Thanos at the end ofAvengers: Infinity War, meaning the Infinity Stones no longer exist in theMarvel Cinematic Universe.

The post features a series of images breaking down each of the six Infinity Stones from their name to their form, film appearances throughout the MCU, and their current status. Each of the six stones show the exact same status: Destroyed. Straight from the horse’s mouth, we finally have a concrete confirmation thatThanos wasn’t lying inAvengers: Endgameand that he really did use the Infinity Gauntlet to destroy the stones once his mission was complete.

For those wondering about what happened to the Infinity Stones used to stop Thanos at the end ofAvengers: Endgame, Captain America returned them to their original timelines meaning they no longer exist in the current continuity. Looking toward Phase 4 of theMarvel Cinematic Universe and beyond, fans have a lot to look forward too including Disney Plus series likeFalcon and the Winter SoliderandMs. Marvel, as well as the debut of the X-Men and Fantastic Four. While we don’t know the premise of the next saga, one thing’s for sure, Doctor Doom and Galactus won’t be retreading old ground with those pesky Infinity Stones.
