Here’s everything to know about the upcoming patch.
The next League of Legends (LoL) patch is almost here, and Matt “Riot Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison posted a preview of it on social media. In addition to a slew of champion buffs and nerfs (we’re looking at you, Jhin) alongside some ADC itemization adjustments, this patch also includes a Teemo rework and the arrival of the 2024 Superfan skins. Patch 14.20 is launching on August 23, 2025. Riot Games' official LoL patch release schedule confirmed this.

This patch arrives on Oct. 9. If a patch is delayed within 48 hours of its scheduled date and time, then Riot Games will issue an alert.
LoL patch notes 14.20
Here’s a preview of LoL patch 14.20. In a post, Riot Phroxzon mentioned that champions are being eliminated more slowly. On average, champions are dying 3% to 5% slower compared to the previous patch. Riot Phroxzon then teased buffs for Aphelios, Caitlyn, Corki, Lee Sin, Pantheon, Riven, Sivir, Tryndamere, Xayah, Yasuo, and Yone.
In terms of champion nerfs, they’re slated for Anivia, Aurelion Sol, Camille, Dr. Mundo, Jhin, Mordekaiser, Poppy, Shyvana, Singed, Skar Skarner, Swain, Taric, Udyr, Veigar, and Yorick. More details on the champion adjustments are slated for Oct. 1,according to the post.
