A New Epic Monster, four new Runes, and a ton of fresh content heading your way with the debut of League of Legends Season 1!
The first patch of League of Legends Season 1 is here! This update brings us to Noxus, adds a lot of new content, and even changes the look of the Summoner’s Rift. Check out the League of Legends Patch 25.S1.1 notes here.

To summarize, there’s a lot of new stuff added and changed on the map, but not much in the way of Champion and Item balance. We are getting several new Minor Runes, though.
On less detailed updates, Swiftplay will replace Quickplay, and Champion Bounties are changed slightly.

Atakhan, Noxus Map
A new Epic Monster, Atakhan, enters the Rift.He comes with a new plant, Blood Roses, that provide a small, permanent buff to the collecting team.
The map gets aNoxus-themed makeover, including Turrets, the Nexus, and the lanes.
Minion changes
Lots of small minion (and turret) tweaks to change some early game lane dynamics. “We want more matchups to feel playable in the very early game, as optimal play can create situations where the disadvantaged lane has no winning moves, simply waiting to get tower dove on the third wave while hiding under a tower that doesn’t protect strongly enough.”
In general, these changes will cause the minions to clear each other out quicker, especially in the early game.

Turrets deal more damage and are functionally harder to dive. Top and mid lane towers take more damage.

Item changes
The biggest addition to items have to be thenew Tier 3 boots. On the smaller side of things, we’re getting one new (-ish) item.
We’re getting four new Runes, but losing four, too.
