Understanding Probability
If you want to learn more about each banner you can choose “stats” or “view details” under each banner. This tells you the probability of drop rates for 5-star and 4-star characters plus Light Cones, but let’s be honest we mostly want characters.
In Honkai Star Rail - and also many other gacha games - there is a pity system. Don’t worry it’s unrelated to your gameplay. The pity system ensures that after a certain amount of warps or pulls you are guaranteed to get a 4-star or 5-star reward. Soft Pity is a small bonus whereas Hard Pity increases your chances until you reach 100%.

In Honkai Star Rail these are static and depend on the banner. However, on the Warp Simulator you may change these numbers, you can even give yourself a 100% chance to pull a Featured 5 Star just for that buzz!
