How to farm Orchids in The Sims 4
Getting an orchid inThe Sims 4requires grafting together snapdragon and lily plants. By growing one, taking a cutting of the other, and grafting them together, they’ll occasionally result in an orchid plant. Just be careful, as grafting plants requires gardening level five.
Our first step is finding some snapdragons and lilies. They both spawn in the wild, but you can also purchase starter flower packets for a chance to get them. Although snapdragons and lilies can appear in numerous worlds throughoutThe Sims 4, your best bet is to find them in base game worlds like Willow Creek. From here, you can harvest them and grow them on your home plot or take a cutting of one if you already have the other at home.
If you enable the Seasons expansion pack, the two plants will grow at different times. Lilies are a Summer-exclusive plant, while snapdragons grow in Spring and Autumn. Keeping them indoors will help speed up the process, but it will be slightly delayed if you find them in the wild first.
Alternatively, you’re able to purchase seed packets using any computer. To find them, select any computer and go toOrder > Purchase Seeds. From here, you can get start flowers, farmer flowers and fruit, or rare plants after reaching gardening level 10. While you’re not guaranteed to find snapdragons, lilies, or orchids here, they offer another method of finding some quickly and easily in between wild flower runs.
Once you obtain some snapdragons and lilies by farming them in the wild or opening seed packets, grow both plants and take a cutting from one. From here, after reaching level five gardening, you can graft one onto the other and watch them turn into an orchid plant. It’s very unlikely to work on the first few tries, so don’t be surprised if you have to repeat this several times.
How to use Orchids in The Sims 4
Aside from being a noteworthy money-making flower, orchids are mainly used to create Death Flowers. Grafting a pomegranate onto an orchid plant will make a death flower plant, which you can then use to make ambrosia.
