After multiple delays and years of development, Path of Exile 2 has finally launched into early access. While the developers have been upfront about certain issues the game might have, there is one error that’s stopping players from logging in altogether. When players attempt to log into their account after opening the PoE2 launcher, the “Unexpected Disconnection Occurred” error pops up.
This error completely prevents you from logging into a server and thus, playing the game at all. If you’re seeing this error message after trying to log into Path of Exile 2, check out the guide below for some potential fixes.

Fixes for An Unexpected Disconnection Occurred error in PoE2
Unfortunately, this is an issue that the developers warned players about before launch. The Grinding Gear Games developersposted a videothat discussed some of the problems that could happen when PoE2 went live. Due to thehigh number of playerstrying to log in at the same time, server issues were bound to occur.
While the developers mentioned server queues were going to likely be in place, many players can’t even log into a server at the time of writing. Instead, they’re met with the An Unexpected Disconnection Occurred error right after pressing the red “Login” button on the home screen.
At the moment, there doesn’t appear to be any concrete fixes for this problem other than to wait for the developers to figure out a solution. If you want to try and solve the issue for yourself, though, we recommend these fixes:
