Wondering how to utilize the new Simple Edit in Fortnite? Here’s how it works!
Have you moved to Zero Build mode because building and editing in Fortnite are too complicated? Well, the editing component just got much easier. Fortnite’s new Simple Edit setting makes one-button edits possible, allowing more novice players to utilize and understand the mechanics better. This guide explains everything you need to know about this new feature, including how to enable and use it.
What is the Simple Edit setting in Fortnite?

For example, if you want to edit a window in the middle of a wall, you click your dedicated edit button to make that happen. This same process applies to floors, walls, ramps, and cones.

How do I turn on Simple Edits?
If Fortnite’s new Simple Edit mechanic sounds interesting, you can enable it by heading into the ‘Settings’ menu. Then, navigate to the ‘Game’ tab and scroll down to the ‘Building’ section. You will see the Simple Edit line with an ‘On’ and ‘Off’ option. Fortnite’s description explains that “you can edit a building piece by pressing the ‘Edit’ input once.”
You can test this function by queueing into a Creative match, where you can build and edit freely. Ultimately, it’s up to you whether the Simple Edits are worth your time, but they could make your experience in Fortnite Battle Royale more manageable.
