Honkai Star Rail 1.2 “Even Immortality Ends” brings new characters, missions, events and a lot more. There’s also something for returning players.
Honkai Star Rail 1.2 update is one that players have been waiting for quite some time. There’s a lot to unpack in this one with new areas to explore, a new story, and new characters. Let’s dive into what’s new in the latest update.
What’s new in Honkai Star Rail 1.2 update?
Two new Areas
The Honkai Star Rail 1.2 update brings two new areas for players to explore - The Alchemy Commission and the Scalegorge Waterscape.
The Alchemy Commission
The Alchemy Commission is where Xianzhou makes their medicines. Its former Chief Alchemist on the Xianzhou Luofu was Dan Shu. The Alchemy Commission is one of the six commissions of the Xianzhou Alliance.
New Characters in Honkai Star Rail 1.2
Blade (5-Star character / Destruction: Wind)
A wind-type character that follows the path of Destruction, Blade will automatically deal damage to enemies after its HP is lowered multiplied times. It’s dangerous to deal damage and not eliminate him as Blade can also choose to eat its own HP to deal intense damage to opponents.
He is a member of the Stellaron Hunters. He derives his name because he abandoned his body to become a blade or so lore has it.
Players can obtain Blade through the A Lost Soul Character Event Warp.
Kafka (5-Star character / Nihility: Lightning)
Kafka is a Lightning Style character following the Path of Nihility. She can trigger 1 additional DMG from DoTs applied on enemies. She also has a myriad of ways to shock enemies.
The character is obtainable through the Nessun Dorma Character Event Warp.
Luka (4-Star character / Nihility: Physical)
Obtainable through the Brilliant Fixation Light Cone Event Warp.
After multiple attacks, Luka gains powerful abilities causing the Bleed status applied to enemies to trigger for 1 extra time. His skill can cause enemies to bleed.
Honkai Star Rail 1.2 Returner Event Rewards and Details
If you haven’t played in a while, this is the best time to pick the game back up.
Main Story Quest
Xianzhou Luofu — Topclouded Towerthrust
“There is someone else who brought the Stellaron into Xianzhou and activated it. There are troubles both from outside and from within.”
Players have access to a new Main Story Quest with the Xianzhou Luofu — Topclouded Towerthrust. The new Main Quest is available permanently after the 1.2 update. But in order to unlock it, you need to complete the Trailblaze Mission “Xianzhou Luofu — Sinners Misled, Credence Falsified.”
Missions
For I Have Touched the Sky
In order to unlock this mission, players need to complete the Trailblaze Mission “Xianzhou Luofu - A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” and then read specific messages at Stargazer Navalia. The new mission requires you to go to the Palace of Astrum and look around with Qingni.
Letter from a Strange Woman
Availability: Permanently available after 2025-08-20 12:00:00(server time).
This mission will be available after June 07, 2025. Players will have to follow a similar pattern to the previous one where they have to complete the Trailblaze mission “Xianzhou Luofu - A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” and then read specific messages at Stargazer Navalia.
Events
There are a few events that go live with the Honkai Star Rail 1.2 update. The publishers also mention new events will come soon and players can expect further updates.
■Tales of the Fantastic
2025-06-23 12:00 - 2025-06-23 03:59(server time)
The Tales of the Fantastic event will be available from July 21 till August 22, 2025. To take part in this event, player accounts need to be at least Trailblaze Level 21 and complete the Xianzhou Luofu mission.
Players need to help Mr. Xiyan complete the “Hero\s Journey” for the first time to unlock the Past and Present Game mode.
The event rewards include Tracks of Destiny, Stellar Jades,Relic Remains, Legend of the Trailblazer, Traveler’s Guide, Lost Crystal, Lifeless Blade and more.
■Underground Treasure Hunt
This event will go live after the Tales of the Fantastic event ends. The Underground Treasure Hunt event runs from August 9 till the 28th of the month.
Belobog has recently seen a “Treasure Hunt” craze. Large numbers of relics have appeared in the Underworld, and they seem to have something to do with the ancient ruins in the Great Mine.
Trailblaze Level ≥ 21 and complete the Trailblaze Mission “Jarilo-VI — Silent Galaxy”
■ Gift of Odyssey
As usual, there is a check-in reward that will award players who check in daily during the event. Players can claim the Star Rail Special Pass after checking in for 7 days.
