A whole bunch of small changes
Xbox’s first update of the new year won’t be a monumental one. It’s nothing akin to the dashboard overhaul from last November, and Microsoft isn’t addressing any serious concerns. Instead, it’s making a fair number of small changes to incrementally increase your experience — like not accidentally joining a chat with someone you hate.
That’s how most of the changes go; they’re social-oriented, so that you may connect (or avoid connecting) easier. Suggested friends, better activity feeds, and Gamerscore leaderboards are all points of emphasis.

Right now, the update is only available for Preview participants — those who sort of beta test early features for Xbox. However, if the past is any indication, it shouldn’t be too long before everything rolls out to the general public.
