Preserve 60FPS gameplay
I have only ever playedHalocampaigns in split-screen, couch-sharing co-op. This streak will end withHalo 5: Guardians, according to this month’sGame Informer cover story, becauseHalo 5does not support splitscreen co-op, likely to preserve the 60fps gameplay.
If you want to play with friends, you’ll have to do so over Xbox Live (contrary to what was initially reported in the Game Informer story,Halo 5online co-opdoesrequire Xbox Live Gold).

The campaign pits Chief and Blue Team against the better equippedHalo: Nightfall‘s Locke and Fireteam Osiris. Blue Team members will always be present with Chief and if your friends fill them out over online co-op, note that they all have slightly different loadouts.
Gaurrdians of Ga’Hoolewill also launch with 20 maps (all free) and add 15 more as DLC by June 2016. New multiplayer features will be unveiled at E3.
