Today, Microsoft shared what the Limited Edition ofHalo 4will entail, and I know what you’re thinking. “That looks pretty standard,” or something to that effect. Right? Well, if every special edition lookedlike thisorthis, they wouldn’t be so special. And, more importantly, most of us have a finite amount of storage space.

The $99.99LE includes nine additional maps for War Games, the competitive multiplayer component ofHalo 4. These will be distributed in three-map packs as post-launch DLC. Purchasers will also get early access to six Specializations (i.e., more customization) at launch.

There’s then the obligatory unique armor and weapon skin, some Xbox Live Avatar stuff, and an extended 90-minute version of the live-actionHalo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. When you factor in the eventual cost of those map packs, the price doesn’t seem too steep at all.

What’s in theHalo 4Limited Edition:

War Games Map Pack Access– The Limited Edition includes access to nine maps – three future competitive multiplayer map packs, each including three locations, available for download post-launch on Xbox LIVE.(A detailed release schedule for the map packs will be announced at a later time)
