Scott Speedman, who plays Dr. Nick Marsh inGrey’s Anatomy, has been chosen to lead the cast of the new ABC seriesRJ Decker. Many know Speedman for his character in the medical drama, but the actor isn’t new to the TV world. He originally rose to prominence via his role as Ben Covington inFelicity. Now, Speedman is taking on a headlining role.
According to a report fromDeadline,Speedman is set to star as the titular character in the pilot ofRJ Decker.The drama, created by Rob Doherty ofElementaryfame, is based on Carl Hiaasen’s 1987 bookDouble Whammy, centering around Speedman’s character.
RJ Decker is a “disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con"who decides to become a private investigator in South Florida, but that only scratches the surface of his character. Since the announcement only constitutes a pilot order, the network hasn’t orderedRJ Deckerto series yet. If it does, though, one can’t help but wonder what this means for Nick inGrey’s Anatomy.

Then, he would like to resume his recurring role as Nick inGrey’s Anatomy. Whatever the case, it sounds like Nick will appear in the upcoming season of the medical drama no matter what.

Speedman has had a handful of memorable TV roles over the course of his career, from Ben inFelicitytoNick inGrey’s Anatomy. Now, though, he has the chance to headline his own show, which is quite exciting. It also helps thatRJ Deckersounds perfect for him.
