Genshin Impact is adding another character to the roster! Here’s what we know about the luchador Varesa, her kit, abilities, Talents, and Constellations.
Varesa kit
Varesa is a 5-star Electro Catalystfrom Natlan. This makes her the first 5-star Electro character from Natlan, as well as the second Catalyst character from the region. She will be playable alongsideIansanin an upcoming update.
Note that the details of Varesa’s kit, Constellations, and Talents below did not come from official Genshin Impact or HoYoverse sources, and should be taken with a grain of salt.
Varesa Combat Skills
Varesa swaps between two forms with her Fiery Passion mechanic. This is separate from the Nightsoul State that all characters from Natlan have.
Normal Attack: By the Horns
Varesa has a unique normal attack set. All hits deal Electro DMG, and the charged and plunge attack are Nightsoul-aligned.
Her Charged Attack headbutts opponents in front and sends her into the air. Meanwhile, her Plunge Attack has an additional effect wherein if it hits an enemy or Varesa is in combat upon landing, she gains Nightsoul points. If she reaches maximum Nightsoul points through this, she enters the Fiery Passion state.
While in the Fiery Passion state, Varesa’s normal, charged, and plunge attacks deal more damage.
Elemental Skill: Riding the Night-Rainbow
Varesa rushes forward, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG to enemies in her path. She also gains 20 Nightsoul points and the “Follow-Up Strike” effect.
This skill has a Tap and Hold version.
This skill has 2 charges. When Varesa enters Fiery Passion, the cooldown is reset and it will deal more damage.

Deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Electro DMG and enter the Fiery Passion state. This deals more DMG if she is already in the Fiery Passion state.
Varesa will activate Apex Drive after using a Plunging Attack while in the Fiery Passion state.
Varesa Passive Skills
Tag-Team Triple Jump!
After using Elemental Skill, the damage of the next plunging attack is increased. This effect is greater if she is in the Fiery Passion state.
The Hero Twice-Returned!
Varesa gains a stacking ATK buff when a party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst.
Blazing Heart, Singular Advance
Varesa’s Sprint speed is increased. While out of combat, her Stamina consumption while sprinting is also increased.
When in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics, party members will restore 20 Phlogiston when consuming food. This does not take effect in Domains or the Spiral Abyss.
