Retailer GameStop opened a Facebook store to reel in their 3.5 million FB “fans” so that they might sell a game or two. Now, six months later, the store has closed. Facebook wanted to be a shopping destination, and investors were saying that “F-commerce” could grow to threaten Amazon, but it seems that nothing went as well as they hoped, and GameStop has now quietly backed out.

Actually, it didn’t work out for anyone. Gap Inc, J.C. Penny, and Nordstrom have all opened and now closed a Facebook storefront.
