Good thing Nintendo didn’t kill it
Last week was a great time to be a portable gaming enthusiast in Japan, as not one, but two highly anticipated titles launched on Thursday inFire Emblem FatesandPersona 4: Dancing All Night.
Fire Emblem Fateswas far and away the week’s best-seller, moving a combined 303,666 copies across all versions of the game. For comparison’s sake,Fire Emblem: Awakeningsold 242,600units when it debuted atop the country’s weekly software charts in April 2012.

Maybe it was a good thingNintendo decided against cancelling the series, after all.
Meanwhile,Persona 4: Dancing All Nighttrailed a distant second, belting out 94,036 sales in total. The rhythm game’s numbers are roughly in line with fellow spin-offPersona 4 Arena Ultimaxfirst week sales,89,468, though still well short of mainline entries in the series andPersona Q,186,856.

At any rate, these games can’t arrive in the West soon enough!
