DOTA 2

News

Dozens of pesky visual bugs were fixed, and several balance changes were made as Valve releases Dota 2’s 7.34c patch.

We’re a few weeks out from the start of The International 2023, and while the current meta of Dota 2 looks like it won’t change enormously, Valve has shaken things up a bit with a new patch. The update, which dropped on the evening of September 8, had two main components: Some balance changes, and some important visual fixes. Here’s a quick breakdown

DOTA 2

Dota 2 patch 7.34c item updates

All nerfs for items, with Solar Crest getting its Shine Movement Speed Change reduced by 3%, and a host of Neutral Items taking some stat reduction. The aim here seems to be to reduce the early power of Nature Items, we’d guess to make the early game less RNG reliant. #

Hero changes

The meat of Dota 2 patch 7.34c are the hero changes. Arround two dozen heroes got tweaks, with the biggest changes coming to Earthshaker and Gyrocopter, who were buffed and had their talents switched around. Also, Sand King was buffed, much to the joy of Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen.

On the nerfs side, it seems some of the most popular supports were focused. Nature’s Prophet, Phoenix, Treant Protector, and Vengeful Spirit all felt the nerf hammer. In their place, the likes of Shadow Shaman, Rubrick, Omniknight, and Ogre Magi all received some buffs. We’d assume this is a switch to try and push a different set of heroes into the meta ahead of TI12.

Fixed graphical issues

Perhaps one of the biggest issues plaguing Dota 2 as of late has beenvisual bugsfollowing the Summer Client Update, and today’s patch fixed a whole lot of them.

Dota 2’s recent visual update is great – apart from the bugs

Missing Flagbearer minions, auras not appearing, buff timers invisible, spell effects not showing: We love the Dota 2 visual updates but the bugs are literally killing us.

There’s a genuinely massive list of these bugs, from ones we’d spotted earlier and reported on (invisible Ion Shell) to ones we’d been lucky enough to avoid (invisible Pudge Rot). We’ve listed all the fixes below.

One name curiously absent from all the bug and nerf fixes was Wrath King, whose issues we’ve previously detailed.

The King is dead? Wraith King bugs are putting the hero in the grave

Wraith King has a major bug right now that’s making the hero fail to do the one thing that makes him special!

We can only assume this fix is going to require a few more tweaks, although new info about the bug appears to be emerging. It is apparently affected by the Armlet of Mordiggian, and that item itself is currently seeing a lot of bugs. Still, WK looks like he’ll continue to have issues for a few days to come at least!
