The growing playerbase of Deadlock is concerned about how Valve will deal with cheaters.
Valve’s new game Deadlock, a mixture of a hero shooter and a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), already has plenty of cheats despite being in early development.
Over the past few days, the rise of cheaters in Deadlock has become a hot topic in the community as players are concerned about Valve’s capability to handle cheaters swiftly. Anyone who’s played CS:GO or CS2 in the past years knows how Valve can’t stop spin botters and wallhackers from plaguing the game’s official servers.
One recent post about cheaters onDeadlock’s subredditgathered over 600 comments as people discussed footage of players blatantly using aimbot. While I didn’t see any player running aimbot on my Deadlock matches, I was sure a player was using wallhack the other day as they always had good timings and reads.
And, to make matters worse, there’s not an option to directly report cheaters in Deadlock for now, as the game is still in its early development build. There is, however, a way to report them via the game’s official Discord server.

Is Deadlock’s future in danger because of cheaters?
As much as the playerbase has the right to be concerned about Deadlock given Valve’s stance — or lack of it — against cheaters in CS2, it’s still too soon to be worried about Deadlock’s future. The game is still in early development and the servers aren’t even protected by Valve’s Anti-Cheat (VAC).
For now, it’s probably better to wait and see what Valve does in the future rather than judging based on other experiences.
