David Arquetteis sharing a bit of Hollywood history — on ex-wifeCourteney Cox‘s hairstyle inScream 3.
The actor, 47, commented on a meme of Cox, 54, from the 2000 horror sequel that read, “If you ever feel like s—, just remember Courteney Cox’s hair in Scream 3.”
Arquette revealed he was the one behind the hairstyle, which was modeled after the pin-up model Bettie Page.
Cox and Arquette met while filming the firstScreamfilm, which was released in 1996. The two played Gale Weathers and Dwight “Dewey” Riley respectively and were each others’ love interest in the series, which included 1997’sScream 2andScream 3.
The two married in 1999 and share 14-year-old daughter Coco. They separated in 2013, but have remained good friends.

In September, the two came together to wish their daughter a happy first day of high school, which Arquette shared on Instagram.
“I’m so proud of my daughter Coco!” Arquette wrote. “Have fun and be safe in High School! AND don’t grow up too fast! I love love love you!!!”

Both have since entered into new relationships, Cox with boyfriend Johnny McDaid and Arquette withChristina McLarty(with whom he shares sonsAugustus Alexis, 1, and Charlie West, 4).
Though the couple went their separate ways, they share joint custody of Coco and remain thebest of exes.
“He’s my best friend in the world,” the formerFriendsstar said of Arquette onTheEllen DeGeneresShowin 2013. “I love him.”
“She’s incredible,” Arquette told PEOPLE of Cox. “I love her, too, and she’s an amazing person, a beautiful person.’
