A CS2 VAC ban wave surprised about 2,000 players today.
The CS2 community woke up with many players complaining about unfair Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) bans. Among these individuals are professional players like Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa from M80 and Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras from Into the Breach.
According to Dec. 5 data fromCS stats, there are about 2,000 banned players today, which is more than double the numbers yesterday. The wave of bans comes one day after Valve released minimal updates for CS2.

Valve’s response to the CS2 ban wave
CS2 confirmed the fake bans and that the accounts will return to unbanned players. “Yesterday’s update mistakenly triggered game bans. We’ve fixed the issue and ban rollbacks are in progress,” according to CS2’sofficial social media account.
The reason for this wave of large-scale bans is still unclear, but the official response noted that yesterday’s update conflicted with some player accounts.
Many players got scared by the punishment. Former professional player and now commentator Jacob “Pimp” Winneche also warned players of the possibility of the VAC bans being fake.
“Obviously, it’s a mistake […] you will have your inventory back and your VAC ban reverted. Don’t worry about that,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sodbayar “Techno4k” Munkhbold from The Mongolz, who will soon compete in a tournament, noted that his account got unfairly banned.
Remember that VAC prevents one from playing CS2 or taking part in competitions on another account for a specified time.
