Hunt that new Dedenne during the Pokémon GO Holiday Part 1 event.
The Pokémon GO Holiday Part 1 event brings the festive spirit to the game in the form of a brand new costumed Pokémon and a shiny debut. The event also brings back several other festive costumes, has bonus XP and more.
Here is everything that the event has in store when it kicks off.
Pokémon GO Holiday Part 1 event details
The Holiday Part 1 event runs from Tuesday, December 17, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time. It will be followed by the Holiday Part 2 event, with details about that to be announced soon.
The following bonuses will be in effect during the event:
New costumed Dedenne debuts
A brand new costumed Pokémon is arriving during the Holiday Part 1 event in Pokémon GO. This will feature an adorable jacket. Excitingly, this Dedenne wearing holiday attire can be shiny if you’re lucky. It will be full odds though, so you will have to be significantly lucky in order to encounter one.
There will also be another new shiny to hunt during the event. For the first time ever in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter shiny Sandygast.

There will also be a special Egg pool during the event. The following Pokémon will feature in 7 km Eggs.
All of those Pokémon, besides Charcadet, can be shiny.
Other event features
Alongside Collection Challenges, Field Research Tasks and PokéStop showcases will be a Paid Timed Research. Priced at $2, this will include the following rewards:
