They ’ve always stood asunder from most Star Wars estrange figuratively and literally , thanks to their isolationistic civilization . Between its peculiar obsessions , its timeworn plot and remote titulary quality , and the very oblique nature of the Chiss that obligate Zahn so much , Chaos Rising is a read that can be as intimidating as it is alluring for someone who wants to read a slice of Star Wars that could n’t care less about Jedi and Sith , or Imperials and Rebellions .
