Can your PC handle Runescape: Dragonwilds?

After years of solely developing Old School RuneScape and RuneScape 3, Jagex is now sinking its teeth into something completely new: RuneScape: Dragonwilds. Dragonwilds is an open world survival game set on the lost continent of Ashenfall, which ties into the RuneScape universe that’s been evolving over the past two decades. While we don’t have a release date for RuneScape: Dragonwilds yet, we do have the list of minimum and recommended PC specs.

As of now, Dragonwilds is only coming to PC, so it’s more important to know if your computer can handle the game since there’s no alternative way to play (yet). Below, you can see a list of the minimum and recommended PC specs to gauge whether or not you need to upgrade some hardware before the launch of Dragonwilds.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is coming to PC in early access sometime in 2025. TheSteam page for the gamesimply says “coming soon,” so it’s unclear exactly when the game will be released in any capacity.

With Dragonwilds coming to early access initially, though, you can expect some performance issues right from the start. However, these issues should be ironed out over time, and the PC specification lists could be adjusted to reflect the game’s better optimization. For now, though, you can see what Jagex recommends for your PC to run Dragonwilds effectively:

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

As you’re able to see from the PC specs, it’s really not going to take much at all to run RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

The minimum specs call for a GPU that was released in the mid-2010s, while the recommended specs call for specs that were released several years ago as well. Suffice it to say, you don’t need modern hardware whatsoever to run Dragonwilds. It’s also not going to take up much space on your hard drive, as all that’s needed is 25 GB of space.

If you’re aiming for the recommended specs, then you just want to ensure you have 16 GB of RAM, as that’s always key for open-world games that need to render a lot of pixels all at once. However, as seen on the minimum spec list, you may get away with 8 GB.

This early spec list is very promising for Dragonwilds. RuneScape veterans know the MMORPGs in the franchise can run on ancient PCs, but it’s nice to see the new addition follow this trend as well.
