At first glance, Eevee ex’s ability, Veevee ‘volve, might sound quite useless considering that all it does is evolve Eevee ex into one of the Eeveelutions. An Eevee with an ability to evolve? No way.

However, what some of you might miss is the fact that Eevee ex is a Pokémon ex card. These are normally powerful enough that they don’t need to evolve anymore.

Pokémon TCG Pocket

Since Eevee ex is different from the regular Basic Eevee, you may have as many as four Eevee cards in your deck. This also means that you can use at least four powerful Eeveelution cards to gain an advantage over your opponent.

Here’s a competitive Eevee ex deck build that maximizes the evolution mechanics in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Eevee ex deck list

This Eevee ex deck only utilizes Fire Energy, since Leafeon ex can power up itself with Grass Energy, and Sylveon’s only role is to become a wall and a third Professor’s Research:

How to play the Eevee ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Your goal for this deck to work is to evolve your Eevee cards as soon as possible and demolish your opponent’s Active Pokémon with either Flareon ex or Leafeon ex.

Flareon ex has the higher damage between the two, so it’s better to play this Pokémon in the Active Spot whenever you get the chance.

Eevee, Sylveon ex, and Professor’s Research should give you enough drawing power to retrieve at least a copy of Flareon ex or Leafeon ex before your opponent can attack. Once you get the cards you need, evolve your Eevee, and your Flareon ex or Leafeon ex will do the rest of the job.

Other notable cards in the Eevee ex deck

As you attempt to evolve your Eevee, you can use some Trainer cards to annoy or delay your opponent a bit using a Red Card and a Mars. You can also amplify your Eeveelution’s survivability and damage using the Eevee Bag, Red, or Giant Cape.

Strengths

This deck can fight well against Water-type decks since Leafeon ex can provide coverage to Flareon ex. You can also use this to counter Grass-type decks, with Flareon ex capable of one-shottingCelebi ex.

Weaknesses

The threats that you need to watch out for areOricorioand snipers who can target your Benched Eevee. Fortunately, you have a non-ex Leafeon that can counter Oricorio, but with only one copy in your deck, it might not always be enough.

Moreover, there may be times when this deck bricks because you don’t have the right Eeveelution available, but you can usually avoid that by making full use of its draw engine.
