Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Andor season 2Andorseason 2 features one of the most surprisingKnights of the Old RepublicEaster eggs I’ve ever seen, and the implications for the greater canon are pretty significant. As a whole,Andoris aStar Warsshow that has refreshingly been devoid of big cameos that pull focus on references that only really serve as fan service. That said, a handful of subtle Easter eggs inAndorhave been pretty exciting to discover (including this new one connecting to one of the most belovedStar Warsgames of all time).
A vast majority of Easter eggs inAndorcome from one man and location:Luthen Rael and his gallery of art and antiquities on Coruscant.Featuring relics and artifacts from all over the galaxy, there’s always something exciting to spot in the background (including the Sankara Stones fromIndiana Jones and the Temple of Doom). However, one of the final episodes ofAndorseason 2 featured one of the series' most exciting Easter eggs connected toKnights of the Old Republic(and Darth Revan himself).

You Can Actually See Darth Revan’s Sith Insignia In Luthen’s Shop
Found On A Gungan Skull
InAndorseason 2, episode 10, ISB Supervisor Dedra Meero confronts Luthen in his shop, having finally identified him as “Axis”.During this face-off, the skull of a Gungan can be seen in the background, featuring gold etches across the bone. Like manyStar Warsfans, we spotted and included this skull on ourEaster eggs post for the final episodes ofAndorseason 2. However, some fans like@TodayinTorlooked at the skull even more closely, pointing out online that the symbol of Darth Revan’s Sith Empire can also be found etched on the skull:
Connected to theKnights of the Old Republicvideo game series, which is now considered part ofStar Wars’non-canonical Legends, this is yet another major piece of KOTOR history that’s been recanonized in recent years. However, it’s not the first KOTOR referenceAndormade either.

What Does This Sith Insignia Mean For Star Wars History?
Darth Revan Was Already Canon, But Andor Has Teased A Major Part of His Legends History
BeforeAndorand this new Easter egg referencing his Sith Empire during the Old Republic,Darth Revan himself was already a part of the officialStar Warscanon, his name having been spoken aloud by the Sith Eternal inRise of Skywalker.Their Third Legion was named after him as well. However,Andorseason 2’s new Easter egg is the first time elements of Darth Revan’s history have been made canon once more, such as his Sith Empire.
Additionally, the insignia itself was inspired by Darth Revan’s Star Forge, an ancient superweapon discovered by Revan and his apprentice Darth Malak which had originally been built by the Rakatan Infinite Empire. Notably, bothAndorseasons 1 & 2 featured re-canonizing references to the Rakatans, further supporting that the Star Forge’s existence is no longer relegated to Legends alone. Furthermore, Darth Revan’s insignia being found on the skull of a Gungan also suggests a new connection between his Sith Empire and Naboo.

Naboo Has Surprisingly Strong Ties To The Dark Side
The Birthplace of Emperor Palpatine
Naboo having significance to Darth Revan’s Sith Empire does make a certain degree of sense. Not only would it become the future homeworld of Emperor Palpatine, but there’s evidence that the Sith Lord may have had a secret observatory on the world. In the established canon, Palpatine’s observatories were often located near sources of great dark side power, suggesting Naboo may have been the site of a powerful dark side vergence, not unlike the locus of dark power located on Mustafar, where Darth Vader had his fortress built.
Regardless, flashbacks inAndorseason 2 featuring Luthen and Kleya on Naboo help explain when and how they might have gotten their hands on this Gungan skull connected to the ancient Sith Empire. Amusingly, it also brings to mind the classic “joke theory” about Darth Jar Jar, which allegedly seems to have been the original inspiration for adding this particular prop in the background ofAndorseason 2 (according to this Reddit post from someone who worked on the show).

WHERE TO WATCH

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic tells the story of the Star Wars universe long before the Skywalker family altered the fate of the galaxy. The player assumes control of Revan, an amnesiac Force user who finds themselves thrown into the center of the ancient struggle between the Jedi and the Sith. An open-world RPG that allows the player to explore a galaxy of planets, KOTOR puts an emphasis on player choice: Revan must decide whether to save the galaxy, or conquer it.
